I’m quite surprised that there isn’t a plugin that would do this, but I do know that it could be custom coded. If this were a project you were interested in looking into, I can also recommend the following customizations experts: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

Otherwise, the closest thing I could offer in a plugin would be WooCommerce Variation Swatches and Photos.

Thanks for the links. Yes I am surprised too as it seems to be a very common way of shops showing colors in general. I might have to look at some custom work. Thanks
