• Hi,

    No matter what I do I can’t seem to get the image caption text to centre, or even in some cases line up with the left corner of the image when supposedly left-aligned (it shifts to the far left while the image remains in the centre).

    Left alignment would be OK failing that, except as above, it won’t always do that. This seems to be the case when editing my older articles, but left alignment works fine with the newer ones, suggesting that the code used to insert images and captions has been updated since these were originally posted.

    I’ve tried adding custom CSS code to the additional CSS area in the control panel as recommended all over the web, yet to no avail.

    Please can you advise?

    Can you provide us the URL of your website as well as screenshot link for better understanding of the issue?

    Thanks.

    Sure, thanks for getting back to me. Here’s one of my oldest posts where the wonky alignment issue occurs (check out the last two pics, the others don’t have caption text).

    These ones were originally imported from Blogger in case that’s relevant. Looking at the HTML code though it seems to be standard and very simple, and the code used to insert images with captions is identical.

    Now here’s my latest article that was created in WordPress from the start. The caption text alignment in this one ignores any attempts to centre it too, but it’s correct if left alignment was the aim.

    No need for screenshots really. A good example here is the fourth pic down (the one of Sly Stallone).

    Please excuse the ultra nerdiness. ??

    We could not see any image caption added within your site. So, can you follow this link: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-caption-to-images-in-wordpress/ to add the caption on images of your site and see if that helps?

    Thanks.

    Huh? If you search the source code of the first link you’ll see three references to ‘caption’ and there’s 23 references in the 2nd link.

    @dreamkatcha

    We doubled checked on our development environment and the caption seems to be displaying all fine, ie, centered on the image. So, can you ensure that you’ve added the image caption as needed for your site properly and confirm? And as we see, your site is not utilizing the caption properly for your site, ie, caption display div’s is different than the theme/WordPress provides. Hope you are clear on this.

    Thanks.
