Did you experience the same behavior on the thumbnails?

The plugin is using the gd image library internally. You may experience a loss in quality due to the JPEG encoding. The library does not support much exif information, so if you add exif information that controls the brightness of the image, it may be removed.

Thank you for getting back to me so fast. I had become convinced it was the plugin because when I had turned the watermark off and then looked at the full size image all was back to normal color, however as you pointed out the problem persisted with the thumbnails. I see now that it was caused by the way it was exported from Photoshop. I reexported with include meta data unchecked. Curiously now I can’t get the watermark to show up…

Everything is working perfectly now. Thank you so much for your help even though the problem was not caused by your plugin.
