Column background color transparency

Following my last post concerning column height, I finally uploaded Gutenberg and it works great.
The feature to set background color on column is helpful but there is no option to set color transparency
RGB is only R G B not R G B a
Hex I have tried with #000000FF, it does not work, is it wrong color hex including transparency ?Do you have a solution to set transparency on column background ?
If option is not, is it possible to consider it in future update ?Thanks

I made a search on Github and found these issues:

So it looks like it will be added. I assume it depends on when a developer picks it up.

You can add a transparent background color to columns by using the gradient background color option instead of the solid background color.
- Add or select any gradient background.
- Click on a control point.
- Reduce the opacity. When you reduce the opacity, the rgba settings will show.
- Enter the values.
- Then select the next control point, an add the same values.
