Column layout not applied to blog page

  • Hi, I am working locally using XAMPP so can’t provide a link.

    My Global layout is single column but I want my main “Posts Page” and individual post pages to have a single sidebar to the right with the post categories etc in it. I can achieve this for the individual post pages using “Columns layout for : Single” or specifying a column layout per page.

    However, there is no option in “Column layout for the main content” for specifying the main “Posts Page” layout, and specifying a layout for the individual page has no effect. It uses the Global Layout whatever layout is specified in the page. This issue seems to be restricted to the “Posts Page”

    (For clarity I have a static home page and have specified a page called “What’s New” as my “Posts Page” in WP setting > Reading)

    I have also tested this on a live site using this theme and the same behaviour occurs.

    Any ideas why or how I can force it to show what I want please?
