• I used W3 TC until today and changed now to Comet Cache.
My site code says, that Comet is running, but i dont get any better results in pagespeed insights nor gt metrix.

With W3 TC the results became a lot better and moved from 50 to 90 at pagespeed.
With Comet Cache my results dont improve at all. Do you have any idea where the problem could be?

I also added the gzip compression rule to the htcaccess.

  • @tomdoe Can we get a link to the site? It sounds to me like Comet Cache isn’t actually caching the page for some reason. You should definitely be seeing an improvement.

Thanks for your reply. Its https://www.techchild.at
In the meantime I added mod_deflate and the gzip compression modul to my htaccess. Now I can reach 83 points at google pagespeed. With W3 TC I got more than 90, but that is ok for me, as it does not sliw down my backend that much.
At Gt metrix my score went up to 77 means grade c. Not that good. But better than before.

If comet cache is doing anything in the background I cannot say. Without the changes in htaccess I did not see any improvement to my page without any cache plugin.

@tomdoe I just took a look at your PageSpeed report and the main problem is that you’re not minifying HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Those features are included in Comet Cache Pro. Otherwise, you could find some free plugins on www.ads-software.com that minify HTML, CSS, and JS and see if that helps.

I can tell you that your site loaded up very quickly for me with Comet Cache running. Also, I recommend reviewing this article to become familiar with important details about running tests with PageSpeed and GTMetrix against a WordPress site: Why doesn’t Comet Cache “Eliminate Render Blocking” and move CSS/JS scripts into the footer?
