• Hi there.

I’ve been messing with ComicPress quite a bit over the past four or five months. Lately I’ve finally decided on a specific project and I am going to use ComicPress to power it. ComicPress seems to have everything I need.

The problem? It’s not a comic. This is written in prose (with illuistrations by a friend of mine). I want to use ComicPress to take advantage of its fantastic features, such as the first/previous/next/last navigation and the ability to have a blog separate from the main content.

I’ve already done some heavy modifications of my own, including an original theme. Take a look at the site here:

It’s obviously incomplete in many areas, but you can see what I’m going for with the main page there.

I was working from this mockup design that I made: https://bb.xieke.com/files/engineer12.png

So far, so good, right? (ignore the appearance of the pages and individual posts for now, I haven’t gotten around to skinning them yet, so it’s a bit messy).

The problem comes in the first/pev/next/last navigation. It’s not working quite like it should (the “first” link leads to the current page, and there is no “next” or “latest” link anywhere in sight), and I think the problem comes because I’m not using actual comics.

I don’t have comics in my image directory or anything, and I don’t really plan to make use of that at all. I would like it to work with the posts (the content is a story afer all, so I just post the prose) from the “comic” category. As in the description for each comic rather than the comic itself. Does that make sense?

I might be off. That might not be my problem. I might have broken something while doing my changes. If you need it I can zip up my edits and see if anyone wants to take a look.

    Thanks.
