Coming from Mailchimp. Will reengagement email bounces put me in Mailpoet jail?

We couldn’t afford mailchimp and paused for 18 months. In moving to the more affordable Mailpoet, I brought over our contact list from our last email bast of subscribed contacts. I want to send out a re-engagement email from MailPoet but I can’t tell from the Mailpoet instructions if bounces from email addresses that have since been closed will put me in Mailpoet jail. Do I need to clean the list BEFORE sending a re-engagement email or does the re-engagement processing do that? TIA
