Why do you remove the “limit to category” option?

Thank you for really good plugin, I’m user already for few months and my blog is looking better with RPWE ??

I’d like to have Limit to Category option in the next versions because that’s why I was using RPWE until now – 0.9.5 – when this feature stopped working. The last version before 0.9.5 also started making some problems with thumbnails, because I can’t get custom width & height to work, the size of thumb is always 120x120px.

Please don’t ignore the wishes of users. Thank you!

BTW, I can help you with plugin development, so I would be pleased if you have published it on GitHub or other git repo, where I could commit some features ??

I decided to remove it because it already has Limit to taxonomy option, you can easily to limit all taxonomy including category and tag.

I still thinking which is the best way/option for the taxonomy. Keep the category and tag option or completely remove it since a lot of user requested to not remove it. Hmm…

My case: I have two RPWE on my mega-menu for each menu items – each displays Recent Posts (based on category) and Random posts (Based on tags). It’d be a pain to manually type in the taxonomies for all the menus items. :/

And it’s always good to have those two separately… Limit to category and tags -> This is the only reason why I love the plugin ??

Absolutely KEEP the Limit to category and tags option. Like Karthlkeyan KC, it’s the ONLY reason why I use the plugin (well, and the ability to use an image).

As a novice and non-developer, I don’t know anything about taxonomies. You’d have to provide instructions to us on how to use this field.

Thank you for your input about it. Here’s a few changes I have made so far for version 0.9.6

• You can display posts from multiple post types.
• Fixed Limit to Category and Limit to Tag not working issue.
• Change multi select with checkbox for Limit to Category and Limit to Tag option for better user experience.

The only task left is limit the posts based on author, I’ll finish it and push the new version soon.
