  • Hi there,
I think your hosting provider has disabled the Editor. I suggest contacting them so they can either bring it back or provide another way to edit the theme files.
Let me know if you need additional help with this.

Hi @markwaregr! Thanks for your reply. So I did, and they thought it was weird I asked them, because according to them, the iThemes security plugin I have installed, is potentially blocking me from editing my files. He said I needed to delete a line in my wp-config.php file, basically this line (Dutch):

    define( ‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true ); // Deactiveer bestandsbewerker – Beveiliging > Instellingen > WordPress tweaks > Bestandsbewerker

But! Since I always edit and post on my website in a browser and have never actually had an FTP or looked at it or know why I should have it on my own computer, googling for where to find my wp-config.php file results in: look in your FTP/etc. My question is: where can I find my wp-config.php file without having to install an FTP and more of this nonsense? I JUST want to be able to get in to my single.php file and in to my editor via my browser, as I have always been able to do, but now for some reason I cannot anymore and I am left with faulty design. Im sorry if I sound very much like a frustrated noob. ??

Thank you so much for helping out.

    Best, Andrea.

Hi @markwaregr, another email from my hosting provider and they have given me back the reigns over my own editor by deleting the line for me. I have edited the category line in single.php and content-entry.php but the extra space AFTER one category when there are two or three does not disappear.
When copied the categories above any article and pasting it in Notes it appears to be fine: CONTENT – FICTIE – PO?ZIE

But on the website it looks weird, the dash isnt in the middle. I have tried deleting the first space before the dash too, in the php-files, but this still leaves too much room; the dash isnt in the middle.
    Can you help?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi,
    add this
    .entry-category, .entry-categories a{margin-right:0}
in your custom CSS box under Customize-?Additional CSS to fix this.

Let me know if you need additional help with this.

Thank you so much @markwaregr ! That seems to have done the trick on mobile, checking my laptop tomorrow. What I did See now on my phone is that my instagram widget is not giving back any info? It says: Instagram has returned invalid data.

How is this possible? It worked fine the other day.
Thanks once again. I promise to be done at some point with asking so much! ??

    Hi there @andrea1451986,
Which Plugin are you using for your Instagram feed?

Hi @markwaregr, I am not using a plugin for it, but a widget. The Instagram-widget. Which always worked on both laptop and mobile. Now mobile Doesn’t work anymore for some reason… if I could add printscreens you could see. It just says insta isn’t giving back any data. Do you see that when you look at my website on telephone?

    Thanks again!

Hi @markwaregr, can you help me with this? I haven’t changed my settings, its just giving an error and I’d like to get it working again. Thank you!

    Hi,
Well this is a widget from a plugin. Use any third party Instagram plugin witha a widget like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/instagram-feed/ or https://el.www.ads-software.com/plugins/instagram-widget-by-wpzoom/

    Hi @markwaregr!
Thank you. Turns out I had the latter, but it renewed its name (and more?) recently?
Anyway, I deleted what I had and installed it again and now it works. Although when I open my website on my phone there are holes in between some of my 12 pictures. And no matter how many times I change the number or margins or pixels, the holes stay. And I want 12 pics, so. When someone else opens my website on their phone, they see no holes. So there’s a little mystery.
    Thanks for your help!

    Best, Andrea.

    Hi,
this is what I see https://prnt.sc/swqw1y. Perhaps you will need to clear your WordPress cache or purge your CDN? I am guessing old visitors might see something different than the new ones

Hi @markwaregr. Thanks for showing me what you see. I asked several people and the ones that have visited my site before see the white holes between instagram pictures as well. So that sucks. I have cleared my Caches (all of them if that makes sense) and purged my CDN, although I have no idea what the latter means. Closed and opened my website again on my phone and the holes are still there. Am I missing some setting that should be checked or unchecked perhaps? I am using the plugin W3 Total Cache. I am starting to feel a bit helpless.

Hi @andrea1451986, have you contacted the plugin developers for more insights on this? Can you send me a screenshot with what you see, and the browser you are checking this?

Hi @markwaregr, no I havent yet. But as of yesterday it seems to be working fine again. I changed it to two photos per row at first, and the white holes were not visible then, but then the photos were far too big for my taste. Then I changed it back to three pics per row, and for some reason the holes are now gone? Haha, so I guess Ill just leave it. Would you mind terribly looking one more time for me if they’re gone on your phone too? https://andreadejong.nl That would be great! Thanks for all your help on this.

    Hi,
It looks fine, but the problem might come back if you add an image with a different height. Anyway, Let me know if you need additional help with this.
