• I have a self-hosted WP with 2 users, both admins (admin and lisa). Lisa is the author of ALL posts. Commenting is set to moderation. Whenever a comment is received, ‘admin’ is getting the approval notice, despite ‘lisa’ being an admin *and* the only author.

    What gives?

  • Did you find the answer to this question? I have a similar scenario for a blog set up for a client.

squidz — yes I did. The documentation for WP is a little misleading. It says that the comment moderation email gets sent to an ‘administrator’ — but that isn’t entirely true. My experience is that it gets sent to the email that is set as the email address in the “Settings” section of the wp-admin. It was only until I changed that did I realize that was the address it used.

There are plugins that will help you send notification to poster authors, etc. but I didn’t need them.
