Comment Count Incorrect After Purging Pingbacks

    I’ve noticed that after WP-Optimizing removes trackbacks and pingbacks, it appears the comment count is wrong.

    Is there a way to recount comments?

    The number of comments shown on the posts page in the admin panel as well as the comment count that displays by the little comment icon of thumbnails in the post loop.

    Hi, Sorry for the delay on this.
    Right now there’s no easy way to recalculate the comment count for all the relevant posts.

    I’ve added the suggestion to refresh the comment counts when removing trackbacks and pingbacks to our list, but it could cause issues with performance on sites with many of them.

    The count should refresh when new comments are added.

    If you really need to update the comments number on a post, you can change a comment’s status and it will update.
