• I recently installed WordPress 2.0 (it’s still vanilla – no plugins activated yet).

After testing, the comments were deleted, but the comment count of the front page was not updated to reflect the change.

It still reads 2 comments though there are none. I found a support thread outlining a similar problem and a wordpress support ticket – however, neither are the exact problem. They seem to be focusing on the use of comment plugins or the use of mass edit.

These comments were deleted individually in standard mode (no mass editing).

Can someone tell me the database that stores the comment count number so I can manually delete it.

    Thanks

Dig a bit of digging around the database and found it in the posts table – it appears the comment_count column isn’t being updated when comments are deleted.
