Comment Deletion

Alright. Hopefully this hasn’t already been asked; I did search, but you never know – I may have missed it ??

-I used fantastico to install wordpress 2.0.
-Everything seems to be working good, except for this bizarre bug: I mass-deleted comments (where you check off the checkboxes and click the “delete checked comments” button)
– Even though they are gone, the main page still shows the comment count at 2 (when it should be 0)

Any ideas on why this is happening?
(and I’m using a theme I made, so I can’t see that information being overly helpful…)
