• I’ve created a comment header in the styles.css file of my theme, following all instructions to the letter. But when I go the the “appearance” area of the admin page, rather than show the title of my theme, it shows the entire content of the comment header as if it were all on one long line.

    It doesn’t affect the look of the main site, but it looks butt-ugly on the admin area, and it seems to hinder any on-line editing of my theme ( I have to do it in Aptana and then upload)…. If I try to do any kind of editing online, I get a message that says the theme doesn’t exist.

    Here’s the comment header:

    /*
    Theme Name: purplearth
    Theme URI: https://blog.purplearth.net/
    Description: Adapted from the early default theme for WordPress.
    Author: Obbie Z
    Version: 0.2
    Author URI: https://www.purplearth.net/
    */

    What am I missing or doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

  • There is already a theme called purplearth on the WordPress Themes directory, wordpress ignores themes which already exist. Try re-naming your theme to something more original…
