  • its possible, do you have your .htaccess set up correctly? If it is in the right place you should try and chmod it to 777 and see if you can edit it through wordpress

I still can’t figure out why my comment links and permalinks are not working.

Still get the same error as I wrote in the first post. My .ht writes just fine and as far as I can see it has wrote correctly.

    Any further suggestions?

    Thanks

    Any suggestions please?

I have no clues what might be causing this.

Is there any files you need to see?

    Thanks

if you have your .htaccess chmodded to atleast 666, and it appears that the permalinks are writing to the file, then you’ll most likely need to set up your permalinks to look like this:

    index.php/%month%/%and so on%/%and so on%/

see if that’ll fix it. not the prettiest but it might work.

    Hi there.

I have them set as this:

    /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

    Thanks

ely, did you try the suggestion? In other words, prepending a literal index.php/ to it?

Ahhh sorry I didn’t quite get that first time around ??

Yes I did do that and yes it does work ??

Why would it work that way and not the normal way? When I was on 1.22 it always worked fine the traditional way.

Many thanks and if you have another idea let me know ??

Oh and the other problem is that I have PHP generated menu and doing it this way doesn’t register that when on archive the archive high lighted menu item.

Update: comments do not show once clicked on permalink or comment link.

    Thanks

sorry to bump this but I really need to know why.

I emailed my host and they have absolutely not restrictions on mod-rewrite.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks
