Comment Moderation

  • Some of my comments that readers post are posted immediately while others have to be approved. Why is that and what can I do to make sure that all comments are immediate?

    Could be then that some words are in both the Blacklist and your comments ?
    That said, I had a similar problem when using Blacklist, but then it just stopped ….

    Duh. I’m an idiot. The comments that were being moderated had certain obscenities in them. Now that I’ve figured it out I really like that feature. Movable what? Never heard of it.

    I can tell by an answer that there ARE filters for obscenities. So… I guess I need to find the “manual”.. because I’ve been using the standard “click on everythign method ” to see if it works.
    a) Where is “the manual” (or whatever).
    b) If there is no “manual”, how do I set obscenity filters.
    c) Yes, I am clueless.

    Which version of WP are you using ?

    You must be using 1.2 for the new built-in advanced moderation filters.

    I just downloaded it from this site yesterday using “fantastico”.
    That makes installation so easy… I didn’t even see the files assorted files. I guess I better read….
    The read me file says Version 1.0.1. So, I guess I better find V1.2…
    I think I better register, so I am not nameless here either.

    Point of clarification. Do you mean I need 1.0.2? No 1.2?
    The download site lists 1.0.2 only. (I ask because I am on modem. Using fantastico to get it installed at my web host was a snap. Downloading then uploading is going to be a pain in the neck)
