Comment needs approval from one user

  • I have my site discussion set so that users with previously approved comments can add new ones without needing approval. However, this does not seem to work for at least one user, my wife who is also one of the few registered users on the site at the editor level.

    Today, I had to approve 4-5 comments by her although she has previously approved comments. If you look at the page indicated in this message you will see multiple comments she wrote and I had to approve every one of them while the other visitors had their comment appear without needing my approval. Another comment in this category would be one by Dogan Basak who also has a previously approved comment using the same e-mail address.

    Why is WordPress treating some users differently when it comes to comments needing approval?

  • It might be a plugin/theme conflict. Like perhaps an anti-spam plugin and/or security plugin.

    Thank you Thomas@iThemes, that is a thought but everybody else can post their comments without needing my approval because they have previously approved comments. I will look around anyway.

    BTW, I should also add that these messages are not marked as spam, jut not automatically approved like all the others.

    The following screen capture shows 12 approved comments yet the last one waiting for approval.

    I also changed settings and disabled a security plugin that controls comment spam with no change in approval being needed. As I indicated before, her messages are not marked as spam, just needs approvals every time she posts a comment.

    Does her having an account on the site have any impact on this? I have not seen behavior like this on other sites I built and manage.
