When editing the Post, can you scroll to the bottom of the page and check if the box is checked off in the Discussion settings box?

If you don’t see the Discussion box at all, scroll to the top of the page, click on the “Screen Options” tab, and check off the Discussion checkbox there. Then it should display at the bottom of the page.

The box is checked off in the Discussion setting.

Sorry that’s the checkbox you were referencing already wasn’t it? Can you make sure that this box is also checked off in the Discussion settings: https://pics.competethemes.com/image/0s1E1U0a131F

If it is, the next step is to try deactivating all plugins on your site temporarily. You can quickly bulk deactivate/activate them using the top checkbox and dropdown menu on the Plugins page. If the comment form reappears with the plugins disabled, reactivate them one-by-one until you find the culprit.

Ben, that box was checked off also. I deactivated all plugins but it didn’t solve the problem.

Thanks for trying that. Can you temporarily switch from your child theme to the Apex theme to see if this makes a difference?

I switched over to Apex’s parent theme but comment section is still missing.

Hmm okay I can’t seem to recreate the issue with Apex. Have you made any modifications to the files in Apex, or have all of your changes been to the child theme? Are you running the most recent version of WordPress?

    Thread Starter Amy

    (@ontherye)

Modifications were made to the child theme and I am running the latest version of WP. The issue seems to be on and off. As of last night, the comment section reappeared so I’m just going to wait and see if it does it again. Thanks for all your help though =)

    Okay sure thing ??

If it comes back, just let me know along with any other details you can find. Thanks!
