comment thread links on posts not rewritten to lead to #disqus_thread

Using the genesis engine 2.1.1 and epik 1.4 child theme.

I’m using the Disqus comment plugin and for the comment links right under the titles of posts on my home page, they ARE properly rewritten to go to the #disqus_thread anchor, e.g.:
from https://xolotl.org/
comment links like the following are properly rewritten to be like:
https://xolotl.org/breaking-news-edtech-makes-learning-a-priority/#disqus_thread

But if I navigate to specific posts, like these:
https://xolotl.org/breaking-news-edtech-makes-learning-a-priority/
https://xolotl.org/what-is-a-doorman-opening-doors-from-little-bird-to-lumen/
The comment links right under the titles of the posts are NOT rewritten for disqus, instead pointing to:
e.g., if there are comments:
https://xolotl.org/breaking-news-edtech-makes-learning-a-priority/#comments
e.g., if there are not yet any comments:
https://xolotl.org/what-is-a-doorman-opening-doors-from-little-bird-to-lumen/#respond

Note: The issue is not theme-specific and appears on other Genesis and non-Genesis themes.
