I updated to the latest version and since updating several commenters have written to me saying they cannot publish comments. When they click the button to publish the comment nothing happens.

Could the new version have either a bug or a conflict that causes this? Is there a setting I could check to see if that will fix it?

I have had a few comments published by readers since the update. But many fewer than normal. So this is happening to more than the two readers who noted the issue.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @richards1052,
All works fine. The problem is in their local browser cache. You’ve updated wpDiscuz to the latest version but their browsers still use old cached JS/CSS files. They should use incognito/private session of browsers a few days until the cache will be reset automatically. Or they can delete browser cache pressing Ctrl+F5 on PC and other solutions on other devices.

If you have a cache plugin, CDN or optimizers, please reset and delete those caches too.

Here is our test, it works fine:

I’m not having any problem posting comments. But at least two readers are. I’ve written to both of them to ask them to clear their browser cache and refresh their web pages. We’ll see if that helps.

After deleting the cookie for my site, one commenter who’d previously failed to post comments was able to post a short comment. But when she tried posting a longer comment this is the behavior she described:

I got rid of your cookie in my cache (I use Safari btw on Macbook) twice. I guess the cookie comes back when I try to post. Okay so when I post my comment there appears in the right margin a red column with a small moving set of indications on the tippy top that something is processing or trying to. Then that red column goes away and my comment sits there unmoved, unposted. It does not like my post.

Often before I could not post a larger paragraph, but a sentence or two was okay. So I am trying that now.

Okay I just commented successfuly on your latest post after trying on the previous post TWICE unsuccessfully. The difference is the size of my comment.

what I said that was not all that long. Is there a word limitation?

And here is a message from the other commenter who’s told me he’s failed to be able to post comments:

    Still experiencing difficulties.

I did succeed using my Apple iPhone 6s to upload a short comment: “Test”
after refreshing the page. Then I tried with my original comment with/without embedded link. Both failed and shortening the comment didn’t help.

Just to let you know that a single post of “test” succeeded.

    Hi @richards1052,

Please let us know how long the content of the comment (the characters count), that cannot be published to allow us to check it.

    My host wrote me:

, i noticed Discuz changed some requests, i had to whitelist some of them.”

It took him some time before he discovered all of the requests/data he needed to whitelist, but I think he’s got it all now. Those commenter can now publish comments.
