Commenting issue

  • I have received several emails from visitors to my blog who say that when they try to comment they get this message:

    “I’m sorry, you have visited this page too many times. Please come back in an hour”

    (They come back in an hour, same message). I have deactivated my anti-spam plugins but the problem persists. When I’m logged in, I can comment as myself. When I log out and try to comment, I get the same message. PLEASE HELP!

    That’s not a message from WordPress itself, so it must be added by a plugin or theme.

    Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Seventeen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
