Commenting not available in PageLines Platform

I have a site using Platform – free version (much to my chagrin as I get to know it more).
It does not seem to allow commenting on any pages, either by default or by clicking “leave a comment”(which displays but does nothing when clicked).
I have tested this by applying any of the other themes I have loaded and they all allow commenting by default or by clicking “leave a comment”.
Needless to say I have commenting allowed from the dashboard and ticked on individual pages. It is only on Platform that this is an issue.
