Hi
I have a problem with comments.
I’ve turned the option on so that people must be registered to post comments and also that not anyone can register.
So effectively comments should be impossible.

However, I am periodically getting comment authorisation requests.
Why are these comments getting through when they should be disabled?

you can try plugins like akismet to reduce comments

That’s not really the point.. I turned comments off – so why are they still being written?

Are they definitely comments, or could they be trackbacks?
You could try removing <?php comments_template(); ?> from your single.php. I’m not sure it would help, but I have seen in the past that somehow some bots will make a comment even when comments are disable.

Here’s an emample of an email I get.. it sure looks like a comment was posted?

Is it a bug in wordpress where it allows them to be posted even though I’ve turned them off?

If there is no aomments approved on your site, no one will post comments on your site.
