Comments and how to manage

I’m new and looking for best way to handle comments. I definitely want to allow comments. I set up as allowing all but my first 3 have had nothing to do with parenting or even close (I guess that is spam). What recommendations do you have? I don’t want to make it difficult for readers to comment or ask questions.

Neither do I want my comments to be littered with junk. Would installing a plug in take care of it or do I need to do something else.
