Why do comments send user private email (when logged) to ads owner via email? Shoudn’t be availabe, should be? If the owner wants to answer the comment, he should reply direct in the ads or via link sent in the email.

The sent email goes with the information below:
    IP
    WHOIS
    EMAIL
    NAME
    DESCRIPTION
    LINK TO ALL COMMENTS
    LINK TO SPECIFIC COMMENT

So, the sender email shoudn’t be shown to the ad owner. The ad owner doesn’t need to know the sender email that commented in his ad. He should just receive the comment and some basic information of the sender (just name).

    Regards,

WordPress doesn’t have “ads” built in by default. Is that something that’s come from a plugin or theme that you’re using?

    catacaustic,

you are right. My bad. In reality, I’m talking about posts not ads. The theme uses the standard WP features (Post Comments).

    Ah, that’s completely different.

That information is in there to make it easier to see if it’s a SPAM comment or not. While some are genuine, the amount of SPAM comments that a site gets can be huge, so it makes it easier on authors and admins.

As far as turing those details off, there is the comment_notification_text filter available, so you can hook into that to change the text that’s sent.
