After installing your plugin, all my wordpress 4.1.1 posts now show: “comments are closed” , even for admin!
Comments were open just before installing the plugin.
I tried everything to re-open them but failed?
    From WP settings its allowed.
I tried disabling the plugin, but comments were still closed
I tried even uninstalling the plugin, yet comments are still closed!
What can I do now please?

    Hi Sallam,

WP-SpamShield does not interact with the WordPress setting that closes comments.

The only way that could happen is if you either changed the setting yourself by accident, or you have another plugin that did this.

There is absolutely no code in WP-SpamShield that would modify this setting in WordPress or close comments.

When the plugin is uninstalled, it completely removes itself, including all settings and files and doesn’t leave a trace of itself in a site afterward.

To re-enable comments you’ll need to go to your WordPress Settings – > Discussion Settings and check the box for “Allow people to post comments on new articles” and then you’ll need to check individual posts and make sure they aren’t disabled there. The setting may be hidden so click “Screen Options” in the top right, then check “Discussion”, and then look below and make sure “Allow comments.” is checked.

    Please see this:

    Thanks for the quick reply.
You were right. I have adjusted the wp settings and comments are now back. I have to manually reopen comments in the last 10 posts or so.

The problem wasn’t related to your plugin.
Please accept my apologies. I’ve re-installed your plugin.
And thanks so much for your kind and prompt support.

You’re welcome, Sallam. I understand how uncomfortable it can be when there is suddenly an unexplained change on a website.

    No problem. ??

You’re very welcome. Have a good one.
