  • The only thing I can tell you is: Your theme works quite the standard way …

Hah! I have an idea, when updating to 2.0 RC1, did you run /wp-admin/upgrade.php ???

The comment_count is a new field for Release 2 …

    yes i did.

    Damn it !
    I’m out of ideas, sorry.

Have you access to your database ?
There has to be something different …

How did you do the upgrade ?
Did you delete the installed files before upgrading to 2.0 ? Maybe there is some 1.5.2 file writing the comment in a way, 2.0 cannot find it in the count function …

As I said: Out of ideas …

A warning for everybody who reads this:
DO NOT USE beta versions on a live site. It was released to be tested on test sites, not to increase the help requests in the forum.

ok so how can i downgrade then?

i have backed up my database, and i will use a stable version but when i upload the database it does not help at all.

ok i installed a a stable version of wordpress but now when i upload my old database i get this: It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php.

and when i do that i get this:

    Already Installed

You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

what is going on, why cant i upload my old database with a stable version of wordpress?

i went back to the beta and now when i try post a comment this comes up:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_new_comment() in /home/betaxpne/public_html/staff/jase/wordpress/wp-comments-post.php on line 51

I’ve had this error pop up on several of my blogs at various times over the last few days — even with WordPress 2.0.1

Currently, try to post a comment on https://www.boltsmag.com and you’ll get the error. I can’t figure out how to fix this or where the conflict might be.

I truly have no clue what caused teh error — I haven’t been working on files on my site lately – but simply overwriting my WP Install files with the files that came with the 2.0.1 zip did the trick.

    Working fine again now.
