Comments automatically being sent?

  • On our blog we seem to be getting the same comments over and over, like ones posted on another topic – seemedly “automatically” be posted onto the new topic exactly the same, not all from one IP – the same as before. New ones come though ok but a bunch come back over and over… we are unsure if it could be spam (not very likely – as multiple IP’s – same messages etc – not links to websites jsut same people same words) or if it could be a bug… anyone had anything like this before?

  • It’s spam. Or at least, spam-related program activities. That you see multiple IPs means they’re bouncing off proxies. It’s all an attempt to bypass the various (though rudimentary these days) anti-spam protection tools.
