Comments Being Shared Across Photos in Gallery

I thought a new thread would be better. Please remove the old question in the other thread.

I have a very odd thing happening which you may be able to help with

So if you click on any image the comments are not photo specific. I am using NextGen Gallery. The comments are being mixed between images. Every image in that gallery therefore has the same comments. If you switch galleries (up a level) than you get new comments for that gallery.

Can comments be photo specific only.

It would also be nice if we were notified in the admin panel anytime someone did comment/like an image.
