• Hi there

I’ve installed the very latest version of loco translate on my website and I try to translate the theme. everything goes very well except for the term “% comments” in which this error comes up: Possible syntax error in string formatting

thank you so much in advance for your help.

“% comments” is highly likely to be a syntax error. If this is the source string, then the source string is wrong. Probably it should be “%s comments”. See my FAQ about formatting errors.

My editor’s job is to warn about possible syntax errors, but it is not responsible for them. Correctly formatting source text is the theme developers responsibility. Correctly formatting translations is the translator’s responsibility.

Thank you so much for your response,

I did that in the first place and it did’t work, and I actually had seen that page before I openned this topic. because none of those tips worked I decided to translate it directly into the HTML document.

    Best Wishes
