• Hello,

    I run this blog:

    andreayximoaroundtheworld.com

When someone try to comment any post, it stucks at the https://www.andreayximoaroundtheworld.com/wp-comments-post.php URL, showing a 404 error and the comment is not saved.

I tried many solutions explained on other threads:

    – Disabling, deleting and restarting plugins.
    – Changing the site theme.
    – Uploading again wp-comments-post.php.
    – Changing .htaccess permissions.
    – Changing PHP version.
    – Repairing the wp-comments database.

… and many others, but none of them worked.

I would love if anyone knows or has experienced this problem and have the solution I need, because I’m getting pretty mad with that. Thanks on advance!

  • I’m able to comment. I also don’t get any error from https://www.andreayximoaroundtheworld.com/wp-comments-post.php. Try clearing your browsers cache.

    Sorry for the “test”-comment ??

I just don’t understand why, but I’m still getting the error. Even clearing the cache.

Anybody else get the error? Thanks

Are you using any security og spam plugins? Some may block comments.

Actually I’m not using any plugin.

Ok. It’s very odd since it’s working fine here.

Have you tried commenting from a diffrent browser, without beeing logged in?

Yes I tried with another browser, with my smartphone (Wi-Fi and GSM connection) and with another computer at home. Never worked.

I tried by a web proxy site and it worked.

Maybe somehow it is blocking some IP connections, but it’s strange because I tried also with the GSM connection of my phone…

I don’t understand why, but from another place and with another connection the comments are running ok. Maybe WordPress blocked some IPs?

Some people is telling me that they still can’t make a comment because they get 404.

I also have users who have problems posting comments to my site because wp-comments-post.php returns a 404.

In my case it only happens to them if they’re using Chrome. If the same user changes to Firefox or Safari they can post just fine.

I am also baffled; I have replaced wp-comments-post.php from a fresh download of WP 4.6.1 to ensure the file isn’t corrupt, checked .htaccess, etc. Why would it be picky about just one browser?
