• The comments on my site now go straight to the spam folder. I recently upgraded to the latest version and had other work done on the site.
Before this work someone could enter a comment, fill out the reCaptcha words and their comment would appear and stay there. I would get an email right away with a link to go and delete or edit the comment.

Now what happens is the comment disappears after it’s entered, I don’t get an email notification … and it ends up in my spam folder. (where I then have to take a few steps to OK it)
Any ideas how I can get things back the way they were?
Note: In Settings / Discussion it is ticked to send me an email when I receive a comment, but it’s not working.
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • It happens sometimes. From the Akismet FAQ:

Help! Akismet is catching a regular comment as spam!

Don’t worry, if you see a regular comment on your Akismet page, just
click the “Approve” button or the “Not Spam” checkbox and submit and the
comment will be sent back to Akismet as a mistake. The system will learn
from your submission, though it may take a day or so in some cases.
False positives, as they’re called, are extremely rare and we watch them
    closely.

This has suddenly begun happening to all comemnts on my blog as well.

All comments, from various users (many of whom are regular commenters) are going straight into spam. Even reply comments that I make while logged in as admin are going into spam.

I have approved all non-spam comments that are in the spam folder, but Akismet does not seem to be recognizing that (e.g. even after several days, my reply comments are still being flagged as spam).

I haven’t made any changes/upgrades to my site; it appears this issue began spontaneously about a week ago.

Hi Bibliochick. I’m still having the same problem as you and I wonder if you’ve received a reply – perhaps backchannel? … to our shared problem.
Hopefully you’ll see this and respond to me directly? At – [email protected]
