• Hey guys, I’m having a weird issue and I have no clue where the problem is. I’ve installed the official Facebook plugin and I’m using it for comments. In every browser I’ve checked so far, the Facebook comment box successfully replaces the original WP comment form the way I would expect it to.

Here’s the issue: Somehow, some users are still able to comment via WP – I get the notifications in my Admin panel but they don’t show up anywhere on the site itself.

Anyone have any idea what the problem might be, or even where to go looking? Thanks!

  • Hi, check your settings for comments in Dashboard->Settings->Discussion make sure the comments are closed; Also you can check the database to see if you have any entry (post or page) where the comments are not closed (if you do you can set it to close using an sql query).

    Hi jnhghy,
I can’t disable comments because the Facebook plugin uses those settings to determine which posts/pages to show the comment box in (it replaces the WP comment form).
The issue is that somehow people are still being able to post comments with the WP form, even though it does not show on any page, on any browser.

Can you share the site address?
