Comments immediately tagged as spam (false positive)

    For some reason, comments to blog posts are cleared by Akismet, then immediately marked as spam.

    I see the following in the comment history:

    1 min ago – Comment status was changed to spam
    1 min ago – Akismet cleared this comment

    If I disable Akismet, comments still have a status of spam.

    Any ideas on what’s causing this?

    I figured it out. Apparently the WP-Recaptcha plugin I had installed is broken. Deactivating that plugin restored the expected comment functionality.
