Does anyone have a hint for me as to why new comments no longer appear below the post, but on the side, but then the sidebar slides below the post?

See linked example: Old comments below the post, newer ones to the right of the post

    Thanks for any ideas!

  • Hi there!

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

When a post comment becomes more than the value you’ve set for the “Break comments into pages with…” option in Settings > Discussion, there will be pagination for the comments.

This is how it looks on my post – https://share.zight.com/xQuJkKX7

Could you check this option and see how many comments you’re showing per page?

Also, if you’re manually approving comments, check if all comments are approved.

Lastly, if you haven’t tried the troubleshooting steps, please refer to our docs here:

Let me know how I can help you further with this.

Thank you for your reply – it’s great that there is support for the free version.

I have activated the option as explained in the video (it is still activated).

This improves the situation, as the two displayed comments are now displayed correctly. However, if I now click on “Older comments”, these are displayed correctly, but “Newer comments” is moved to the top right of the sidebar and the sidebar is then moved down again. This is slightly better than before, but not good either.

The problem also occurs if I have deactivated all plugins in troubleshooting mode and only activate the Virtue theme.

Do you have any additional idea, how to fix it?

    Hi there!

It seems like the HTML structure for the comments is broken if it goes to the sidebar. Could you give me your website URL so I can inspect the code?

Hi, thank you. The url is attached to my first posting.
