Comments Not Appearing

    Comments are not appearing on my blog anymore. I’m getting emails from people saying they have commented, but they don’t show up. I tried having a few people comment on the blog in my office, and the comments are not showing up.

    One note: We are able to get comments to show up from blog subscribers/admins, but not from general visitors.

    My settings are set to enable comments for all posts. I can’t figure out why they aren’t showing up.

    I haven’t found a similar problem in the forums.

    Depends on the question. If someone has an answer, quickly. If not then you have to be patient.

    This is a 100% staffed by volunteers support forum after all.

    Generically speaking, these troubleshooting methods can help you identify where the problem is.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Do the comments appear in the admin panel? Are they marked as approved, or not?

    Thanks for the suggestions. One of our programmers was eventually able to figure out my issue. We had accidentally put a non-spam IP address in the “blacklisted” commenters section, so comments that were not spam were going straight there instead of showing up.
