Comments not sending email notifications

    WordPress is no longer sending me email updates/notifications when a new comment has been posted.

    All plugins and WordPress features are on latest versions.
    I have tried unchecking, rechecking, and re-saving comment options under Settings>Discussion.

    I have inactivated all plugins, and still no resolution.

    I have tried activating the Jetpack comments, and that isn’t working either.

    I have contacted my host and the PHP sendmail function is working fine when tested.

    I am the admin and the person writing the blog. The only email listed within the WP settings is mine and is correct.

    What else is there to check?

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/check-email/ will confirm if your email is sent and the problem is at the host.

    I’m not trying to send an email. I’m trying to RECEIVE the incoming notification when a comment is posted on the website. The easy-wp-smtp plug in did NOT work.

    But WordPress is sending the email. This is just a check for that but I guess that is what you did with,

    PHP sendmail function is working fine when tested.

    Have you tried changing the email address?

    Can you post a url?

    And I know (but I have to ask) you checked junk mail?

    Haven’t tried changing the email address. I did see some stuff going to spam that I updated to not be spam, but leaving a comment still failed to come through with an email notification. Will try changing the email address.

    Working much better now. Changed the email address, saved, tested and got a notification as expected. Changed the email address back the original, saved, and got the notification when I tested again. Weird. Guess something hiccuped in there somewhere. Thanks for your help. This issue is resolved.

    I am using 4.1. I have never (in the past 12 months) received notification of a new comment or a comment awaiting moderation even though the required two boxes are ticked. I have checked that the email address in Users and Settings is the same and that it is my email address. Any ideas?
