    anyone know?

It’s probably an error with the theme. Try switching to the twentyten theme and see if the comments work. If they do, they you need to look at your template files and fix the php.

I am using the 2010 theme. How do I fix the php? what do I look for?

    erealmz,
I am having a very similar problem. I am using the twenty ten theme as well. I posted four days ago, and got the same answer you did. I replied the same way you did, and I have heard nothing since. Please let me know if you get an answer!

It’s funny because the comments work perfectly fine on the pages. Anything you comment to can be read. It’s only in the “blog” itself that comments don’t work. You cant even leave a comment because instead of going to mysite.com/blog/#respond, it goes to mysite.com/#respond and totally ignores the blog page. Same with trying to view a comment. mysite.com/#comment instead of mysite.com/blog/#comment. I trust that someone will help us fix this but I will continue to work on the problem on my own site and if I fix it, I will surely let you know.

You know, I saw that you have another post asking about how to customize your theme. I bought two books:
WordPress 24 Hour Trainer by George Plumley and WordPress for Dummies by Lisa Sabin-Wilson. I got them from amazon.com. The first one has a cd that demonstrates a lot of the material. These two books really helped get me started. Thanks for replying.

Hi again. You know, I found out through this forum that I had made a typing error when customizing my permalinks.

Since our problems were very similar, you might try checking your permalink structure.

Go to Settings then permalinks. To set yours up as a custom structure, just click on the custome structure radio button (it is just the circle next to the words Custom Structure)

In the box next to it enter the following text: /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%.%category%/%postname%/

Be careful to get it typed exactly as above. I had typed in an ampersand instead of a percentage symbol by mistake and that was the source of my problems.

One of the helpers on the support forums here helped me figure it out. Great huh?
Until next time, see you later,
    Sara

Sorry, the text to enter above is not correct. You see how easy it is to make a typing error? Let me try again

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%category%/%postname%/

And it works perfectly. Too bad the awesome programmers here couldn’t answer that. Thanks to your answer, I actually understand permalinks a little more. And yeah I tried the first text you put and it worked. But instead of doing day/category, it actually replaced it with the dot so it was 04.blog. Lol nice. Like I said, I learned a little more about these permalinks and in turn, a little closer to understanding wordpress.

    Thank you for your help.

I am glad it works. But you should go back and type it in, just exactly as I wrote it the second time. I am proof that one little tiny typing error can goof things up.

It was actually one of the programmers here that pointed out the error in my permalinks. Someone whose user name is something like Alchymth. I am not sure about the spelling, as I am not on my page, so I am going by a vague memory.

I am so pleased that you are feeling better about your WordPress experience. I am too. YEAH!
