Comments not showing ‘awaiting moderation’

Hello, I noticed on my site and one of my friends who also uses Nisarg theme that the “comment is awaiting moderation” notice does not show. My visitors are leaving multiple comments thinking nothing went through. I was able to add a plugin that shows a temporary “your comment is awaiting moderation” banner, but I would like to use this wordpress function. Is it possible to enable with the nisarg theme?
