Comments not showing up on site

  • Hi,

    Client asked me to edit their existing wordpress site which uses this theme and they want to have a comments field that users can write about their site in the contact us page. Under wordpress page i have turned on discussion allow comments – it is checked but still it is not showing up on https://www.skpainting.ca

    any help would be appreciated.

    I tried uploading the original files as maybe I thought the files were somehow corrupt… no luck… running out of ideas…

    There are several places for comments, unfortunately.

    1) In Customiz’it under “Comments”: check the “Enable comments on pages” checkbox
    2) Dashboard > Settings > Discussion: check everything you need
    3) Inside each edit page screen, top right of screen: Screen Options. Check “Discussion” and “Comments” and then go down to the bottom of the screen and switch discussion for an individual page on by checking “Allow comments” (then remember to click “Update”).

    There will be a magic combination of those options to switch on for a specific page, but I’m not an expert. Post back if you still cannot get it working.

    Hi,

    Option 1 worked for me as I didn’t know the theme had its own comments option. But now when i turn that option on this query shows up right above the comments: wp_reset_query()

    If i take out the comments check box then it goes away.

    ok well.. i fixed it by going to the comments.php section and removing
    wp_reset_query() but not sure if that was the proper way to fix it.
