Comments not syncing issue

Hey Joel,
Recently my comments have not been syncing at all.

I tried the suggestion from here:

And that instantly fixed new comments syncing. Can you please look into this? Was this something in the last update?

I am going to have to either revert or apply this fix on all my sites.
