Comments not working

  • I have the latest version of Disqus comments plugin installed in WordPress 3.3.1.
    Even the native wordpress comments system is not working even when I disable the Disqus comments.
    I read that on Disqus’ Knowledge base that for Disqus comments to work, the wordpress comments should be enabled. But somehow the wordpress comments are disabled.
    I don’t know how to enable the wordpress comments.

    I changed my theme to the default and there I get the message below the post “Comments are closed”.
    I haven’t closed the comments and don’t know how to resume comments for posts.

    have you checked the options in
    Settings -> Discussion ??
    and then for individual post/pages as well ???

    I am having an issue with comments not working also (WordPress 3.3.1). Installed DISQUS; it wouldn’t work either. Changed back to OE comment option. Disabled all plus-ins; tried default theme and but comment box still not showing up/working.
