Comments not working properly.

  • Okay, I’ve read of others having problems with comments, but not quite like this. Here’s what I’m experiencing:

    1. Blog posts have comments, but says “No Comments” or, since this started, if I had 2 comments but I now have 4 on a post it still says “2 comments”.

    2. I no longer get email whenever I get comments or spam reports from SK2. Several comments were posted without moderation although I’d checked “An administrator must always approve the comment”

    3. Whenever I try to post a comment, Firefox opens tab after tab after tab until I shut it down or it crashes! The comment will appear after this but as I stated before the comment count does not go up.

    This happens in all themes.

    Is it possible that this is related to new System requirements change for 2.1? I was unaware of this at time of upgrade and my host shows MySQL client version 3.23.58 and PHP Server version: 4.1.11.

    Should I downgrade until I can migrate to a new host? (hopefully later this year)and if so, what version of WP would be appropriate considering my host’s limitations?

    I’m now in the process of moving to a new host with a fresh WP 2.2 install, so I’ll hope that solves my problems…
