Comments off when disabled

This most commonly happens when your theme has a setting of its own that controls whether comments are enabled or not, and this has got mixed up when combined with this plugin. Please check your theme settings to see if there is anything that controls comments, and whether that setting has been flipped.

Other than that I don’t have any general suggestions – would have to see the code for your specific theme to see why it is behaving in this way.

I already talked to the support of my theme and it doesnt have a setting of its own for comments. I have checked everywhere and all comment settings are on as far as I can see.

Says “comments off” but readers can still see the comment box and comment. Any suggestions? Could it be anything in the css?

Can’t really say without seeing the theme code unfortunately. It does seem like the theme is failing to check the comment status correctly.

I just tried another theme and you are right, it seems related to my theme now. Have no idea how to fix it since im not good with manual editing of code but pretty sure it was triggered by this plugin.
