    I have a strange problem after upgrading to 4.2.3. If I click on the comments icon on the dashboard, I am taken to the “add new plugins” screen. Also, I see a pending comment on the dashboard that is spam, but when I click spam the comment isn’t removed; if I leave the dashboard and return to it, the comment is still there. I’ve had the same problem even with all plugins deactivated.

    Here is a screenshot, showing the URL as /wp-admin/edit-comments.php, but also showing the “Add plugins” screen.

    @tfolkman that’s a really strange situation you’ve got yourself there ??

    I can’t see how that’d happen – but how did you update, and from what version?
    One way to fix it, is to perform a reinstall (just the files, won’t affect content or settings) by going to Dashboard -> Updates, and hitting the “Reinstall 4.2.3” button

    Thanks! Yes, it is strange. I will reinstall to see what happens and let you know.

    BTW, I updated manually, as I have been doing since WordPress 3.1. ??

    @dionhulse, a reinstall did not help, but I restored from my daily backup and rebooted, which did the trick. (Lost a day of comments and analytics data, though).
