• Hello,

When I submit a new post, a comment automatically is posted on that post. It comes from my ‘You may also like’ posts related to the one I just posted most of the time, I think.

This means whenever I post a new blog, I automatically get 1 or 2 comments, from myself from previous posts and I have to delete them.

What could be the issue here?

I asked my theme for support and they said it wasn’t theme related.

    Theme: Soledad by PenciDesign

    Thanks

    Try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Twenty, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

You could also try turning off trackbacks as that might be the issue – Go to Settings -> Discussion and uncheck -> Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) on new posts.

    Hello,
Your issue can be caused by a few things.
Maybe you have your pingbacks and trackback allowed on your website. To disable them go to your Settings, click on the Discussion button and uncheck pingbacks and trackbacks on new posts.
In most cases, this should fix your issue. Yet, if you keep experiencing this problem on your new posts, disable all of your plugins and then check the behavior of your comments. If it fixes it you should start enabling your plugins one by one and check which one is causing this issue.

I have tried unticking the allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and track backs) and it didn’t work.

    For more insight:
I posted a new blog, and within the new blog it had internal links to 2 other blogs. Those 2 other blogs then created new comments from text within the new blog.

Maybe its a plugin issue then? I will try the above suggestions but with this new insight if anyone has any other ideas it would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions so far
