• Hi,
if you make a new Page e.g. “Guest book” and click the allow comments button you will notice that there is no possibility to write a comment.
I tried different themes but it looks like the Pages don′t have the “Permalink Comment Edit whatever” footer.
Is there a possibility to add komments to the Pages?

  • It works for me…

Go to edit your page, and click ‘allow comments’ as you said. This is working fine for me, so it’s a problem with your installation. What version are you currently using?

I am suprised to know that changing the theme doesnt work for you. I had the same problem when using Andreas 0410, but when i change to Regulus 211, it becomes possible to comment.

Unfortunately, I prefer Andreas. so I am still thinking of what to do about that.

Try Regulus and let me know if it worked.
flammobammo, what theme do you use?

Sorry, my wordpress is rather at https://www.livinusnosike.wordpress.com As clicking on my Username may take you to my main website or to the chatroom.

Meanwhile, hope people can comment on other categories or normal post? As I never had problem with that in my case even when they could not post to pages.

I am using the german WordPress v2.0.2.
Comments are working on the normal posts. But on “Pages” there is no permalink or comment button, only an edit button if you are an author.

o.k. found the problem …. the english WordPress Classic 1.5 theme does work. WordPress Default 1.5 doesn’t work. nor does the german default theme work.
    Probaly a translation issue.
    Sorry for bothering.

Glad you found the answer. We may now go on to find out why those other themes do not work . . .
