• Hey all,

So I have had comments disabled on my website and finally decided to enable them. Problem is, when I did that, only certain posts enable comments, and others seem to stay disabled. I don’t even know where to begin diagnosing this!

Can someone please lend a hand? My website is housethephotographer.com

    Thank you so much!

Enabling / Disabling comments via the Settings area doesn’t affect already created Pages / Posts. Now that you have enabled the comments stuff, new posts / pages will by default allow comments

You’ll have to go into the edit page of the old ones to fix it. If you do not see the option to enable it, click Screen Options on the top right hand corner and tick Discussions. A new meta box will appear for you to toggle Comment options.

    You sir are absolutely brilliant!

I’ve been going crazy trying to figure it out. Wish there was a bulk option to do this, but luckily I dont have too many posts as of yet.

Again, thank you very very much! Worked like a charm.

Quick Edit will help you speed things up.

If you want it even faster, tick all your post and Bulk Action -> Edit

Thanks again! You have all the answers. Tried that as well and it worked. Now I am completely up to speed.

    Cheers!

Hi all, I have a similar question regarding comments on the blog page.
This time I have turn off the comments settings, and I’m happy that now people cannot drop a comment on the blog article and pages, but somehow. I don’t want to show a word “Comments Off – Continue Reading”
on my blog page at https://www.tifannywatch.com/blog/

Please let me know how to do it without programming, I have no skill programming. Maybe a toggle button to make it disappear?

    Thanks in advance.

Please do make a new thread next time.

Unfortunately, that is a theme issue. You’re likely going to have to edit the template to remove the ‘Comments Off’ text.

You can however check if you have some theme options to toggle it off.

I’m sorry for the wrong thread to ask about this comment off text issue. But thanks for answering Kenshino ??

If that so I might start to find another template since it hard to me to play with wordpress files or maybe ask a friend to do that.
