Comments Option on Newer Posts Stopped working

Have you checked that comments are enabled – both under Settings > Discussion and under individual posts – click on QuickEdit to see the “Allow Comments” checkbox.

If that’s not it, have you tried deactivating ALL plugins and switching to the default theme to see if any are causing that problem?

I have checked to make sure that comments are enabled, both ways.

I have also deactivated all plugins and have encountered the same problem. :/

BUT is this happening on the default theme (with all plugins off)? Had you changed anything or updated just before this started? Where is your site hosted?

TwentyEleven is the only theme I’ve used since building the site. This issue occurs with or without the new update to 3.7.1

I’ve added a few plugins recently, however, I believe the problem started around October 31st.

The website is hosted on my web designers server.

I see a lot of active plugins – try deactivating them all at once by renaming the plugins folder on the server – to plugins.HOLD That ensures that they are all fully deactivated.

If that doesn’t work, leave them off and try switching to a (new) default theme – just in case it’s something to do with your copy of twentyeleven.

Aw crap. After deactivating all the plugins and then reactivating them, I lost all the content on my FOR THE LADIES and FAN MAIL pages…

You may have to set the plugin settings again.

Yeah, I believe the issue is in the ACE Category Excluder plugin. However, I’m not sure of what settings were originally set up.

We have the same problem. I’m not sure the exact date it started, but it’s browser specific. We can see the post box on Safari, Firefox and sometimes on Chrome, but in IE it isn’t visible. https://scrapgirls.com/blog/

WPyogi what plugins are you using? Maybe we have a similar plugin that is causing this.
